Gray Suede Satchel

Designing and creating bags IS Tweedle Twill and I realized I haven't posted anything here about them! I geared up production before the market earlier this month and am starting to post the new items in my shop.

By far my favorite bag is the new Gray Suede Satchel. It is made with a gray ultra suede material that is sooo soft and the design is very practical. It is lightweight but large and sturdy enough to carry books. I also love the two strap styles! There will be more of these to follow for sure in a variety of ultra suede colors.

Coming soon: Pictures of my process!

Introducing: Simple Tidings Notecards

After the success of my Valentine's Day cards I decided to take another step in the paper goodies direction and have designed 12 note cards that I will sell individually and as part of 3 different sets. I am pleased with how the cards turned out and my final packaging decision (there were probably 15 different ideas for packaging at one point!). I originally wanted to print on kraft paper but the colors just popped so much more on a bright white but I still managed to stay true to my kraft paper crush by incorporating kraft envelopes.

Simple Tidings: Blue
Simple Tidings: Purple
Simple Tidings: Brown

Glam West Side Story

Inspired by a recent audition for West Side Story, I did a search for photos from other productions of the show and came across these. This shoot by Mark Seliger for Vanity Fair is a few years old but new to me! They re-created scenes from the 1961 movie and featured celebs Camilla Belle and J-Lo among others. Very cool stylized shots.

Spring Shopping

I love shopping in the spring! Since about 6th grade when I really started caring about clothes my birthday has always meant NEW clothes. These are what I bought this year: I found this dress in my favorite shade of purple, a cute pink spring top and matching necklace and earrings and these cute wedges. Happy Birthday to me!

2011 Spring Fashion Trends

{via Fashionising.com}
I would consider myself fashionable but it generally takes a while before I can accept a trend and most of the time when I finally do it's on the way out! I was checking out trends for the spring and I'm feeling a few of them but Belt Purses (aka fanny packs) on their way back in? I don't know about that one. A positive would be the utility - not having to carry something on your shoulder or risk setting down your wristlet but how do you make it look fashionable? Apparently if you wear it on a cute belt and wear it high on your waist you are good to go! I may design a few of these and see how that goes!

Wide Leg Pants

March Open Air Market

The Open Air Market in Glendale last weekend was fun! A long day and not many sales but the booth looked great and there were TON's of people that passed by throughout the day. Antiques were definitely the main draw and those vendors did very well. I would like to do another event soon but I don't think I have found the right crowd yet. I will be posting new items to Etsy this weekend as I get pictures taken!

Spring time for Tweedle Twill

Handmade Flower Bobby Pins {Juja Crafts}
I love these adorable bobby pins by Juja Crafts! They are a breath of fresh SPRING.

In my humble {yet accurate} opinion March is the best month of the year.. at least in Arizona. The weather gets warmer, spring clothing is in the stores, spring break, spring training is in full swing and it's my birthday month! All of these things = happiness. I plan on being outdoors quite a bit starting this weekend with the Glendale Open Air Market and a spring training game. Maybe we can squeeze a hike somewhere in between.

Happy March and begining of Spring to everyone!
